Demircan, the Minister of Health, informed the public with these sentences: “A total of 7 million screenings were performed.

2,200,000 of these screenings were breast cancer screening. 3 million of them were cervical cancer screening and approximately 2 million of them were colorectal cancer screening.

We want to perform more screenings and make this number 9 million in 2018. We produce 80% of the products of drug consumption in our country. But this shouldn’t be enough for us. We shouldn’t be pleased by this rate. We’re producing unpatentable drugs. We haven’t been able to introduce a patented drug to the market yet.

What does that mean? We need to make up this gap benefitting from science”.
